Change is not always easy, or wanted, or embraced, but change always means a fresh start and new opportunities. Breaking out of the familiar and trying something new is the only way to learn and grow in an ever-changing world.
Since becoming the Operations Manager at Days Gone By Bakery almost two years ago, I have, at times, struggled with identifying what this "new-to-us" business was becoming. I knew that no matter what we did, it would be different than it used to be because new energy was all around us. Whether we liked it or not, change was inevitable and we were cautious, but up for the challenge!
We did some freshening up with paint in the winter of 2016, and brightened up the dining room with some new table tops as well. We brought the Christmas Loft to the main level of the building for easier accessibility for those who found it difficult to use the stairs to the loft and we added some new products such as the Lost Shores clothing and Authentic Seacoast Coffee and soaps as well as Rare Bird Beer just to name a few. With just some small changes and additions we are able to express our new country-coastal style as well as our dedication and support to and for our fellow local business operators.
Now today, as we launch this new website with its new look and feel, we are reminded of all the hard work we have put into finding our place in this already well established business. We have dove head first into this amazing experience and we are so proud of the direction Days Gone By Bakery is going. Change isn't easy... but a continuously evolving business with great memories of the past and two feet planted securely in the future, is where we can all grow together.
...in with the new!
